Flexibility: 2-4 days per week (7-hour days) will be considered Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Trees Officer on an interim basis to support the management and protection of trees, hedgerows, and conservation areas. This is a part-time, flexible role suited to a knowledgeable professional with strong experience in arboriculture and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and advising on tree-related matters within the authority
Making, confirming, and reviewing Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs)
Assessing and determining Hedgerow Removal Notices in line with regulations
Conducting tree inspections and providing professional recommendations
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and local policies
Supporting conservation efforts within designated areas Requirements:
Sound knowledge of legislation and policy relating to trees, hedgerows, and conservation areas
Proven experience with Tree Preservation Orders
Experience applying The Hedgerow Regulations
Practical experience in tree inspections and reporting
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Additional Information:
This is initially a 6-month assignment
Candidates must be able to attend the office at least 1 day per week
Flexibility is required in working arrangements
Ideally suited to local candidates
Access to own vehicle is preferred
