About the Role

We are seeking Experienced Tunnel Electricians to join a major shaft sinking and tunnelling project in the North West UK. This is a long-term opportunity offering up to five years of consistent work on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems within tunnelling and shaft environments
Work on systems including temporary power, lighting, ventilation, pumps, control panels, and TBM-related equipment
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
Ensure all electrical work complies with current regulations and site standards
Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Work closely with mechanical teams, engineers, and supervisors
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Operate safely in confined spaces and underground conditionsEssential Requirements

Proven experience as an Electrician within tunnelling and/or shaft sinking projects
Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
Confined Spaces certification (Medium/High Risk) - essential
Valid medical certificate (safety-critical) - essential
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends if requiredDesirable

ECS/CSCS card
Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent)
Experience working on TBMs or large infrastructure projects
First Aid certificationWhat We Offer
