Underwriting Support Administrator
The successful candidate will be supported through professional development and will be assisted in studying for professional CII qualifications.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven administrative or customer service experience gained within the insurance industry or a similar regulated environment
* Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at grades A–C, including English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Professional and articulate
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft packages
* Organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads
* A genuine passion for building a career within the insurance industry, including a desire towards studying professional qualifications
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient support to a busy underwriting team, assisting with daily business needs to ensure the effective and smooth running of the department, whilst managing general administrative activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Accurately input and maintain underwriting data to enable informed decision-making
* Provide both effective administrative and technical assistance to underwriters within the Existing
* Business portfolio
* Manage inbound calls from brokers and clients, resolving queries where possible or routing them to the appropriate contact
* Assist with the renewal cycle by proactively liaising with brokers and clients to help maximise retention
* Prepare, compile, and distribute documentation, including printed materials, emails, and outbound correspondence
* Gather required information from brokers to support quotations, policy amendments, and renewals
* Draft and update documentation as needed, ensuring a high standard of accuracy and consistency
* Continuously develop technical knowledge to support progression into more complex underwriting tasks
