Location: London
Contract Type: Ongoing Agency Contract (Potential Permanent Role)
Hours: Wednesday–Sunday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Pay Rate: £180–£220 per day (DOE)
Job Description
We are recruiting for an Experienced Vinyl Floor Layer to join a specialist team in London on a long‑term agency contract, with the realistic opportunity to progress into a permanent role. This position is ideal for a motivated flooring installer with strong experience in safety vinyl, cap‑and‑cove, hot welding, and commercial‑grade flooring installation.
The role offers consistent hours, long‑term security, and the chance to work across a variety of environments requiring high‑quality workmanship and precision.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Vinyl Floor Layer seeking stable contract work in London.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain safety vinyl flooring, including:
Cap‑and‑cove installations
Welded seams
Hot welding
Carry out accurate measuring, cutting, shaping, and finishing to high standards.
Prepare subfloors and ensure all surfaces meet compliance and safety standards.
Work independently to complete tasks within agreed timescales.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised work area.
Communicate with site managers or supervisors regarding project updates.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Vinyl Floor Layer or Safety Flooring Installer.
Strong experience with:
Safety vinyl (Altro, Polysafe, Tarkett, etc.)
Cap‑and‑cove
Hot‑weld flooring systems
Excellent attention to detail and a high‑quality finish.
Confident using all relevant flooring tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and manage workloads.
Proven experience in commercial, healthcare, or specialist environments preferred.
Must provide own tools.
Must be self‑employed or able to work via agency.
Contract & Pay
£180–£220 per day, depending on experience.
Weekly pay via agency.
Long‑term, ongoing contract with strong potential to become permanent.
Stable Wednesday–Sunday working pattern with Monday and Tuesday as rest days.
