Apply NowWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Waste & Cleansing Driver (HGV Class II) to join a busy local authority team on a temporary contract with an immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious driver with experience operating HGV vehicles within waste, recycling, cleansing, or environmental services.
Role Details:
* Position: Waste & Cleansing Driver (HGV Class II)
* Rate: £20.21 per hour (Umbrella)
* Contract: 3 Months+ (potential extension)
* Hours: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
* Start: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely operate and drive HGV Class II vehicles on designated collection routes.
* Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
* Lead and supervise a small crew, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
* Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and road traffic regulations at all times.
* Use in-cab technology and systems to record service delivery and incidents.
* Deliver high standards of customer service while representing the Council professionally.
* Assist with waste and cleansing operations as required.
Essential Requirements:
* Valid Category C (HGV Class II) Driving Licence.
* Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
* Experience operating HGV vehicles within a waste, cleansing, recycling, highways, environmental, or similar service.
* Experience conducting vehicle safety inspections and maintenance checks.
* Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays when required.
