Overview
We are seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator with strong practical skills in TIG and MIG welding. This role is ideal for someone who has developed solid hands-on experience in fabrication and welding, even without formal certifications. The successful candidate will be confident working from drawings, producing high-quality work, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform TIG and MIG welding on a variety of materials (e.g. mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium)
* Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
* Measure, cut, and assemble components to specification
* Carry out fabrication tasks including grinding, drilling, and finishing
* Ensure all welds meet quality standards and project requirements
* Inspect completed work for accuracy and structural integrity
* Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
* Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
Requirements
* Proven experience in TIG and MIG welding (essential)
* Strong fabrication skills and workshop experience
* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
* Good attention to detail and quality of workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable, punctual, and with a strong work ethic
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Previous experience in a similar role or industry
* Experience working with a range of metals and thicknesses
* Basic understanding of workshop machinery and tools
Qualifications
* No formal welding certifications required
* Practical experience and demonstrated skill are more important
