We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a well-established steel fabrication company based in Leighton Buzzard. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in structural steel looking to step into a key leadership role.
Location: Leighton Buzzard (LU7)
Salary: £42,(Apply online only) – £48,(Apply online only) per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: Days
The Role:
As Workshop Supervisor, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations within a busy fabrication workshop. You’ll be leading a team of skilled fabricators and welders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in line with health & safety standards.
Key Duties:
Supervising and coordinating workshop staff including fabricators and welders
Allocating work and managing workflow to meet production deadlines
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
Monitoring quality throughout production and addressing any issues promptly
Driving productivity while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Ensuring compliance with all health & safety regulations on site
Managing materials, stock levels, and workshop equipment
Reporting progress and supporting overall project delivery
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience within structural steel or steel fabrication
Previous experience in a supervisory, foreman, or lead role
Ability to read and work from technical/engineering drawings
Strong leadership and communication skills
Good understanding of workshop processes, machinery, and safety practices
Organised, proactive, and able to manage workloads effectively
