Apply NowProactive Personnel are currently looking for several Yard Operatives to start work immediately in Garstang, PR3.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials around the yard
* Assist with warehouse management system updates to track inventory movements accurately
* Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation in the yard
* Participate in shipping and receiving activities, including preparing goods for dispatch or receipt
* Load and unload lorries using appropriate manual handling techniques and mechanical equipment
* Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure safety standards are met
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
* Support construction-related tasks as required, including materials handling on-site
* Assist with general yard duties such as sweeping, organising storage areas, and waste disposal
Requirements
* Previous warehouse or construction experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
* Valid forklift licence is highly desirable
* Mechanical knowledge or background in materials handling is advantageous
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail
* Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
* Strong team player with good communication skills
* Willingness to undertake training related to health & safety procedures and equipment operation
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 07:00am- 17:00pm.
