Year 1 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting March 2026 This school provides a calm, well‑structured, and nurturing learning environment where pupils benefit from encouraging staff, clear routines, and engaging lessons that promote confidence and curiosity. Leaders work collaboratively with teachers to maintain high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, motivated, and able to make strong academic and personal progress. Pupils respond positively to purposeful teaching that supports independence, resilience, and sustained learning.Duties as Year 1 Teacher: Teach a KS1 class full time with high‑quality planning and delivery Support pupils in developing core skills in reading, writing, numeracy, and wider curriculum subjects Maintain consistent routines and promote positive behaviour approaches Adapt teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs, including SEND Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback Contribute fully to planning, assessment, and year‑group collaboration Attend relevant staff meetings and contribute to whole‑school approaches Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil well‑beingIdeal Year 1 Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong KS1 teaching experience Preferably in the third year of teaching or beyond Confident supporting a range of learning and behavioural needs Effective classroom and behaviour management skills Strong organisational and communication abilities Reflective, proactive, and committed to delivering high‑quality teaching Reliable, nurturing, and able to motivate pupils of differing abilities Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfareStand Out with Step TeachersAt Step Teachers, we’re proud to be the only education recruitment agency in Norfolk offering Step On training, part of the County’s respected Norfolk Steps behaviour management programme to all teachers and support staff who register with us.What is Step On?
