Location: Burnley, Lancashire Start Date: May 2026 Contract: Full‑Time, Term‑Time Only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role We are seeking a enthusiastic and dedicated General Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 class within a welcoming and inclusive Burnley primary school. This is a full‑time, long‑term position beginning in May 2026, ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children learn, develop, and thrive. As a key part of the classroom team, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide high‑quality support, deliver small‑group and 1:1 interventions, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day classroom support for teaching and learning in Year 4 Deliver small‑group activities and targeted interventions Assist with planning, preparation and organisation of learning materials Support pupils with varying needs to ensure full inclusion and engagement Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model for pupils Contribute to assessments, observations, and record‑keeping where required Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents Help create a safe, nurturing and inspiring learning environment What We’re Looking For Experience working with primary-aged children (preferably KS2) A patient, caring and proactive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff Good understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential) A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development What We Offer A friendly and supportive school community Opportunities for professional development and training A role where you can make a real difference in children’s lives A well‑resourced, forward‑thinking learning environment How to Apply If you’re enthusiastic, committed, and ready to join a fantastic staff team, we’d love to hear from you.
