Salary:£38,766 per annum (M1 – Inner London, in line with NASUWT pay scale)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, for a motivated and enthusiastic Year 5 Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career in Upper Key Stage 2, within a supportive school environment that values collaboration, professional development, and high-quality teaching.
The role:
You will be responsible for a Year 5 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support pupils’ academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with experienced colleagues to ensure pupils are well-prepared for the transition into Year 6, while fostering independence and a love of learning.
The school offers a comprehensive ECT induction programme, including mentoring, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities to support your growth as a teacher.
The school is looking for someone who:
Is completing or has recently completed their PGCE or teacher training
Has a strong interest in teaching Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5)
Is enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to high standards of teaching
Has high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
Is reflective and keen to develop their classroom practice
Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to the wider school community
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
