This is an exciting opportunity for a confident practitioner who thrives on supporting others, influencing practice, and leading continuous improvement whilst remaining closely connected to frontline social work.

The Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will be a recognised expert within Children's Services, providing leadership, mentoring, and professional guidance to social workers across the service. Key Responsibilities

Provide mentoring, coaching and reflective supervision opportunities to social workers, including those completing ASYE and CPD programmes.
Model and promote exceptional social work practice across Children's Services.
Support practitioners in developing skills in assessment, analysis, planning, decision-making, direct work with children and risk management.
Lead reflective practice sessions, workshops and training programmes to support continuous professional development.
Act as a specialist consultant on evidence-informed social work practice, legislation, policy and research developments.
Support quality assurance processes to improve the quality and impact of social work interventions.
Work closely with managers to drive service improvements and contribute to practice development initiatives.
Assist with the implementation of local improvement plans and strategies to strengthen frontline practice.
Support less experienced practitioners through co-working, case consultation and professional guidance.
Remain connected to practice through casework, co-working opportunities and student supervision where required.
Promote excellent safeguarding and early intervention practice that delivers positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated social worker who can inspire confidence, lead by example and support others to achieve their best.

You will have:

A recognised Social Work qualification with at least 3 years post ASYE permanent experience.
Registration with Social Work England.
Substantial post-qualification experience within Children's Services.
Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience working with children, young people and families.
Proven ability to mentor, coach and develop social work practitioners.
Excellent knowledge of current legislation, policy, guidance and evidence-based practice.
Strong analytical, assessment and decision-making skills.
A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering outstanding outcomes for children.
