Assembler (cable department) - Day Shift - Full Time - £12.21/hr (+ bonus) We are currently recruiting for an assembly operative to join a well-established manufacturing company on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a day-shift role offering long-term stability, structured on-the-job training, and eligibility for a company bonus scheme. This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing work, can follow detailed instructions, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with high standards of cleanliness and quality. Best suited: This role would best suite someone with an assembly background, with a previous work history in a cabling department. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing and assembly work to written work orders and detailed instructions Use of hand tools including measuring equipment, cable cutters, strippers, soldering irons and wrapping tools Measuring to length, cutting, stripping and soldering cable assemblies Following manual handling and health & safety procedures Carrying out test and inspection procedures, including electrical insulation and continuity testing Visual inspection checks for cuts, abrasions, marks, cracks, dents, scratches, surface finish and cleanliness Meeting output targets, monitored against an average rate of 4 cables per stage per dayThe Ideal Candidate Comfortable working in a manufacturing or production environment Good physical health and eyesight, with some heavy lifting required Ability to follow written instructions and inspection procedures accurately Willingness to learn multiple stages of the manufacturing process Capable of heavy liftingWhat's On Offer Eligibility for annual bonus scheme (typically around 10% of annual salary, paid at year end)* Day shift - 38 hours per week Full on-the-job training provided Long-term, stable permanent role*Bonus is discretionary and not guaranteed, though it has been paid annually for decades.
