Child Protection Coordinator
Social Work Practitioner / Team Manager – Safeguarding Location: West Yorkshire Contract: Full‑time | Permanent Sector: Children’s Services We are looking for an experienced Social Work Practitioner or Team Manager to join a forward‑thinking safeguarding service dedicated to protecting vulnerable children and young people. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior, impactful role focused on high‑quality practice, robust decision making, and continuous improvement. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding children, including those at significant risk of harm, by: * Assessing and managing risk effectively * Undertaking critical decision making * Taking professional responsibility for all safeguarding decisions * Providing oversight, challenge, and professional scrutiny to social workers, managers, and partner agencies You will play a key part in raising the standard of child protection practice across the service. This includes offering quality assurance, guidance, and support to teams across Bradford Children & Families Trust and external partners, ensuring consistent and effective safeguarding practice. Key Responsibilities * Provide authoritative safeguarding advice and direction * Challenge and support practice to improve outcomes for vulnerable children * Lead on complex decision making and risk assessment * Drive improvements in child protection practice across teams and partner agencies * Support and uphold organisational standards, values, and best practice approaches About You We are seeking someone with: * Significant experience in children’s social care * Strong safeguarding and child protection expertise * Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and risk‑management skills * The confidence to challenge practice constructively * A commitment to high‑quality, restorative, and relational practice Our Values The Trust is committed to providing a supportive and reliable working environment built around strong organisational values.
