About the Position

We are seeking an experienced, qualified Gas Engineer to join our facilities team in Bournemouth. As a Gas Engineer, you will enjoy a high degree of daily independence while being backed by a supportive, collaborative group of professionals. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where variety is the norm and you are trusted to manage your schedule autonomously, this Gas Engineer position is an excellent opportunity to grow your career with long-term stability and a focus on safety.

Core Responsibilities

*

You will uphold stringent health and safety protocols to ensure all completed tasks strictly adhere to regulatory and company standards.

*

As a Gas Engineer, your primary technical duties involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and small works across a diverse portfolio of commercial retail sites.

*

In addition, this Gas Engineer role requires diagnosing and resolving faults on commercial boilers and heating systems, including lockouts, pressure issues, and circulation faults.

*

You will service and repair a range of gas appliances, including warm air units and radiant tube heaters.

*

As an active Gas Engineer, you will identify and rectify gas-related issues such as pipework leaks, faulty valves, and ignition or pilot failures, while troubleshooting and repairing control systems like thermostats, sensors, and actuators.

*

You will also perform general building maintenance, including basic electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor fabrication, and utilize mobile technology and internal systems to manage work orders.

*

Furthermore, a Gas Engineer will partner smoothly with planners, colleagues, and store managers, complete administrative tasks, support operational objectives, and take a turn on an on-call rota.

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

*

To qualify for this Gas Engineer position, you must hold valid commercial gas qualifications such as COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, and TPCP1/1A.

*

You need to demonstrate robust knowledge and practical experience of commercial heating systems, boilers, and associated plant equipment.

*

We require proven experience working in a retail, commercial, or multi-site maintenance environment.

*

You should possess proven multi-trade capability covering general building upkeep beyond core gas work.

*

Candidates must have strong fault-finding and repair skills, paired with a proactive and customer-focused approach.

*

Clear verbal and written interpersonal skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and colleagues.

*

You will need a flexible mindset driven by a commitment to continuous learning
