Electronic Design Engineer

Electronic Design Engineer Colchester, Essex Full-Time Salary £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience We are looking for a motivated Electronic Design Engineer to join our clients growing R&D team in Colchester. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of electronic product development, from concept and design through to prototyping, testing and production. You will work closely with a small engineering team to develop next-generation electronic systems, while also supporting existing products and providing technical input across the business. Key Responsibilities Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits Develop embedded software in C for microcontrollers Create schematics, PCB layouts and prototypes Test and validate designs using standard electronic test equipment Prepare technical documentation and manufacturing support Provide technical support to sales, production and service teamsKey Skills Analogue circuit design (op-amps, filters, signal conditioning) Digital electronics and embedded microcontrollers (ARM) PCB design and schematic capture Embedded C programming Serial communications (CANBUS, RS485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet) Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter etc.) Understanding of CE / UKCA complianceDesirable Skills Altium or LTSpice STM32 or Microchip microcontrollers Industrial protocols (MODBUS, CANOpen) Knowledge of control systems or engine control About You An Electronic Design Engineer who is enthusiastic about electronic product development Strong problem-solving skills Able to work independently and in a small team Proactive with a hands-on approachBenefits 25 days holiday plus bank holidays 37 hours per week flexitime (core hours 8am-4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-1pm Friday) Matched pension contributions up to 6% Free parkingCall Julia @ Prime Appointments for more information or apply via the link.
