Scout Recruiting is now looking for a Finance Business Partner in the local area of Peterborough. You will be responsible for producing accurate management information, supporting forecasting and budgeting processes, reconciling key accounts, and ensuring the effective operation of finance procedures. Acting as a key contact for financial advice, you will work closely with operational teams to improve financial understanding and drive informed decision‑making. This is a full time 37 hour week role working from the office. Salary is £38600 plus excellent non salaried benefits. On site parking is provided Responsibilities Provide financial assistance, guidance and training to budget holders on their responsibilities and performance Identify and measure key performance indicators to support decision‑making with accurate data and insight Assist with preparing financial forecasts in partnership with managers and senior finance colleagues Highlight variances and produce clear commentary for management review Lead or support the budgeting process in collaboration with non‑finance managers Carry out month‑end close procedures across all ledgers within required deadlines Produce payment runs and administer payments using relevant banking software when required Reconcile control accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records Process and maintain purchase, sales, payroll and bank ledger information for subsidiary activities where applicable Compile and post journals monthly Support the production of timely, accurate monthly management accounts Arrange and attend regular meetings with budget holders to review performance and resolve finance‑related queries Assist in preparing business plans, budgets, forecasts and monitoring reports Conduct investigations into financial areas, including reviewing income and expenditure codes Support year‑end processes including reconciliations, audit samples and financial data preparation Skills Required Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or above or equivalent) Professional finance qualification such as AAT (or actively working towards it) Recent experience in a finance‑focused role Strong understanding of purchase ledger, income and payment processes Strong attention to detail Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel Highly organised, able to prioritise workload and plan day.
