About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Food Technology to join a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Accrington. This is a full-time temporary position starting in September 2026, running until April 2026, with the potential for extension for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering creativity, independence, and essential life skills. You will join a supportive department and wider school team who are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and positive outcomes for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, inclusive Food Technology lessons
Maintain a safe and well-organised classroom environment
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
Inspire students to develop confidence and passion within the subject
Uphold the school’s values and maintain excellent behaviour management
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant FE teaching qualification
Specialism or strong experience in Food Technology
Ability to teach KS3–KS4
Strong classroom management skills
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel)
A positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to student success
