General Manager | Warehousing | Retail | Doncaster | c£80k Are you a hands-on operations leader who thrives in fast-paced, seasonal retail environments? We're partnering with a growingretailer to appoint an experienced General Manager to lead their high-volume DC operation. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the seamless, safe and cost-effective movement of products, to both retail stores and e-commerce customers. The Role As General Manager, you will take full ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and service excellence across all warehouse activities. You will be responsible for: Overseeing all DC operations: goods-in, storage, stock control, picking, dispatch and returns Managing seasonal peaks Leading stock accuracy across a diverse and complex SKU profile Delivering B2B store replenishment and B2C e-commerce fulfilment in line with SLAs Driving continuous improvement across warehouse layout, racking and operational flow Managing third-party carriers to ensure timely, damage-free delivery Upholding robust HSE standards Analysing KPIs and operational data to drive performance and cost efficiencies Collaborating closely with buying, merchandising and retail teams to optimise forecasting and space planning Supporting automation, digital transformation and sustainability initiatives Leadership & Culture You'll lead and develop a team of warehouse managers, supervisors and operatives, fostering a culture built on: Safety first Operational excellence Accountability and ownership Continuous improvement This is a highly visible role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally. What We're Looking For Proven experience in warehouse or distribution management within retail or 3PL Proven leadership of medium-to-large teams in high-volume environments Strong WMS and inventory management expertise Deep understanding of health & safety, compliance and stock accuracy Budget ownership and cost control experience Experience managing seasonal volatility and changing customer demands Why This Role?
