Head of Health & Safety 📍 Suffolk (Site Based) 💰 Circa £70,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits 🕒 Full Time | Permanent We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Health & Safety to join a well-established organisation operating within the transport and infrastructure sector. This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Quality management across a major operational contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting operational teams within a complex 24/7 working environment. The Role * Lead and develop the organisation’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) strategy * Ensure compliance with UK health & safety legislation and industry best practice * Conduct risk assessments, audits and workplace inspections * Lead investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses * Provide expert HSE advice to senior management and operational teams * Manage security, business continuity and emergency planning frameworks * Oversee CCTV operations and security procedures * Manage the ISO 9001 Quality Management System * Monitor HSE performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives * Deliver training, guidance and engagement programmes to staff Requirements Essential: * NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) * IOSH Membership (Certified or above) * Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior Health & Safety role * Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation * Experience conducting audits, investigations and risk assessments * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: * Chartered IOSH Membership * Environmental or Security Management qualifications * Experience within transport, infrastructure or operational environments Benefits * Competitive salary circa £70,000 DOE * 5% contributory pension * Life assurance * Health benefits * Employee retail discount scheme * 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
