Junior Sous Chef / Sous Chef
The Role
You will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day service while maintaining high standards across food quality, hygiene, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in the smooth running of kitchen service
* Assist with menu design, food trials, and implementation of new dishes
* Produce high-quality dishes with excellent presentation and flavour
* Help manage stock control, ordering, suppliers, and kitchen resources
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety
* Monitor kitchen equipment and arrange servicing/repairs when required
* Support task delegation and team organisation during service
* Lead by example and maintain kitchen standards at all times
* Encourage, coach, and develop junior team members
* Help minimise waste and manage resources effectively
About You
* Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef, Sous Chef, or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
* Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Calm and organised under pressure
* Strong attention to detail
* Able to multitask and adapt in a busy kitchen
* Passion for fresh food and high standards
* Positive attitude with the ability to motivate others
