You'll lead from the front-mentoring engineers, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the reliability of complex systems that patients and staff rely on 24/7. ⚙️ Key Responsibilities - Lead, mentor, and manage the site's internal engineering team - Oversee planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical systems - Fault-find and repair heating, cooling, and associated plant - Ensure exceptional standards of safety, compliance, and documentation - Coordinate contractors and liaise closely with hospital stakeholders - Develop team capability through training and strong day-to-day leadership 👤 What We're Looking For - Mechanically apprenticeship trained (or equivalent) with clear qualifications - Proven experience in a complex mechanical engineering environment - Strong knowledge of heating and cooling systems - Experience with steam systems and BMS (highly advantageous) - Demonstrated leadership of internal engineering teams - Professional, reliable, and confident working independently 💼 What's on Offer 💷 £50,000 salary 🕘 Monday-Friday, day shifts only 🔒 Permanent, secure role in a hospital environment 👥 Genuine leadership responsibility with scope to shape and develop a team 🛠 Work on complex, critical mechanical systems that truly matter This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer looking to step up, lead people, and work in a purpose-driven environment.
