Interim Leasehold Consultant – Retirement Living
Daily Rate: Negotiable

We are seeking an experienced Leasehold Consultant to support a short-term strategic project within a retirement living environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a housing provider looking to strengthen its leasehold operations and establish a robust framework for future service delivery.

This assignment will focus on reviewing and enhancing leasehold practices across two retirement living schemes, helping to ensure operational excellence, strong governance, and a sustainable approach to leasehold management.

About the Role

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will conduct a review of current leasehold operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop the policies, processes, and strategic recommendations required to support long-term success.

This is a project-focused role suited to a leasehold specialist who combines technical expertise with a practical understanding of operational delivery within housing or retirement living environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Review existing leasehold management practices across two schemes

* Develop and implement leasehold policies, procedures, and operational frameworks

* Identify service improvement opportunities and recommend best practice solutions

* Produce strategic recommendations and business cases to support future service delivery

* Review governance, resident engagement, and leasehold compliance processes

* Work collaboratively with operational, legal, and senior leadership teams

* Support the creation of a sustainable operating model that can be effectively managed by operational housing teams

* Provide guidance on leasehold best practice, risk management, and service standards

Requirements

* Proven experience within leasehold management, ideally within retirement living, later living, or specialist housing environments

* Strong understanding of leasehold operations, service charges, managing agents, and Section 20 consultation processes

* Experience developing policies, procedures, and governance frameworks

* Ability to review services, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver practical recommendations

* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

* Experience producing reports, strategies, and business cases for senior leadership teams

* Ability to work independently and deliver project outcomes within agreed timescales

Assignment Details

* Initial 3-month project

* Hybrid working arrangement

* Regular on-site visits required across two schemes located in Nottingham and Cambridge
