Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: City of London Salary: £47,000 per annum Hours: Monday – Friday (Shift Pattern: 7:00am – 4:00pm & 10:00am – 7:00pm) Call-Out: 1 in 4 Weeks (£100 Standby Allowance) Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the on-site engineering team within a prestigious corporate banking building in the City of London. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all mechanical building services across the site. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services * Maintain and service plant equipment including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and associated mechanical systems * Diagnose faults and carry out repairs in a timely and efficient manner * Support the wider engineering team to ensure building systems remain operational at all times * Liaise with subcontractors and assist with overseeing specialist maintenance works * Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures * Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation * Participate in the 1 in 4 call-out rota Requirements: * Recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services) * Experience working within commercial building maintenance environments * Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical plant * Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance Package & Benefits: * £47,000 basic salary * Monday – Friday shifts (7am–4pm & 10am–7pm) * 1 in 4 call-out rota – £100 standby payment * 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays * Company pension scheme * Vitality Private Health Insurance including dental, optical, and audio cover * 0% staff loan scheme * Training and career development opportunities Apply Now: If you are an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to join a professional team within a prestigious City of London corporate environment, we would love to hear from you.
