Mechanical Fitter

A well-established and reputable engineering manufacturer is seeking a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the assembly and fitting of high-quality equipment.

The Role

You will be responsible for assembling and fitting a range of mechanical components to a high standard, contributing to the production of stainless steel machinery. The role will involve working both in a production environment and, where required, on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Assemble and fit mechanical components to a high standard

* Work from engineering drawings to complete builds accurately

* Carry out motor fitting, stripping, and rebuilding

* Build and assemble pneumatic systems

* Install and fit bearing housings

* Work on special purpose machinery

* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation

* Adhere to health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements

* Work effectively as part of a team in both workshop and on-site environments

Requirements

* Proven experience in mechanical assembly and fitting

* Strong understanding of engineering drawings

* Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics

* Skilled in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment

* Experience building special purpose machinery

* Good awareness of health & safety practices

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
