Maintenance Engineer Location - Colchester Area Salary - up to £42,000 - Potential earnings of £50k with overtime A well-established, leading supplier of high-quality construction products are looking to recruit a highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Colchester. The company specialise in various sectors of the construction industry including design, manufacture & installation. If you are a qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience of working in a heavy industry / production environment, then we want to hear from you….. Duties: Work as part of the maintenance team you will work unsupervised within the factory, some working at height and in confined spaces. Maintaining and repairing the production machinery, some small plant, production facilities, supporting fleet of vehicles and some facilities maintenance. Fault finding and repair of machinery within the factory including repairs to drive shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and gearboxes Some working on industrial control systems, 3-phase induction motors and variable frequency drives. Weekend work will be a feature of the role (currently every other Saturday) Experience: Experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Must have a knowledge of basic hydraulic systems including, pumps, motors, valves and hose repairs An understanding of general electrical principles, 3-phase experience, safe isolation procedures and fault finding skills would be preferable. Basic fabrication skills Knowledge of gearboxes Plant experience in aggregates, mining, agricultural, construction would be ideal Must be motivated and reliable. Must be willing to work as part of a small team Available to do overtime as required. Punctual, physically fit and willing to work in a workshop and factory environment. Must have own transport.
