Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Belfast Full Time | Permanent Competitive Salary + Package The Opportunity I’m working with a well-established UK & Ireland contractor specialising in Fit Out, Facilities Management and Construction services, who are looking to appoint a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their Belfast-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing division with a strong pipeline of work, where you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to final account. Role Overview You will be responsible for ensuring all commercial functions are delivered to a high professional standard, maintaining control of costs, value, and contractual performance across projects. Key Responsibilities Pre-Contract * Carry out on-site measurements * Produce Bills of Quantities and cost plans * Develop supply chain packages * Prepare labour schedules for operational delivery * Procure specialist materials Post-Contract Procure and manage subcontractors under agreed conditions Monitor and report costs vs value in line with project forecasts Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts Manage subcontractor accounts and maintain commercial control Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities Prepare accurate and timely subcontractor payments Ensure clear communication with senior commercial leadership Work to strict KPIs including time, cost, and quality Issue early warnings and manage compensation events where required What We’re Looking For Essential Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Mechanical / M&E / Facilities Management Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience Strong ability to build relationships with clients and supply chain Good commercial awareness and contract knowledge Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems Full UK driving licence Desirable * Experience working on term maintenance or MTC contracts * Knowledge of mechanical schedules of rates (e.g. PSA/National Schedule) * Experience using QS software (e.g. Barcellos or similar) * Ability to identify value engineering opportunities What’s On Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package * Clear opportunities for progression within a growing business * Strong focus on employee wellbeing and development * Access to a range of lifestyle benefits and retail discounts * Pension, life assurance, and healthcare support * Flexible benefits including additional leave options Additional Information * This role may require relevant background checks depending on project requirements * Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis
