Mechanical Service Engineer Location: Brentwood, Essex Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 + Overtime + Bonus + Company Van Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent An established engineering services company supporting heavy industry is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer to cover sites in and around the Brentwood area. This is a field-based role focused on mechanical maintenance, repair, and fault-finding of rotating equipment including pumps, turbines, motors, and Balance of Plant (BOP) systems within heavy industrial environments, ideally power generation. The Role: Diagnose, repair, and overhaul rotating equipment and auxiliary plant Carry out mechanical fault finding, inspections, and condition assessments Install and commission pumps, turbines, and associated equipment Produce clear technical service reports Support planned maintenance, shutdowns, and outages Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers and alignment tools Attend breakdown callouts and occasional overnight stays Work independently on client sites or as part of a wider engineering team Candidate Requirements: Mechanical Engineering qualification (ONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Proven experience in mechanical repair, installation, and commissioning Background in heavy industry (power generation highly desirable) Experience with OEM pumps or turbines advantageous Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Full UK driving licence Good communication and customer-facing skills Package & Benefits: £40,000 - £47,000 depending on experience Uncapped overtime Bonus scheme Travel and overnight allowances Company van and fuel card Tools, PPE, laptop and mobile phone Healthcare Pension 28 days holiday plus bank holidays Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
