About the Role
Link Consultants are working with a long standing company that are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Estimator to join their growing and dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) estimates across a range of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting the tender process, and helping secure new business by ensuring proposals are commercially sound and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate MEP cost estimates
* Carry out detailed material take-offs and labour calculations
* Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
* Prepare cost plans, tender submissions, and value engineering options
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to assess risk and buildability
* Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and stakeholders
* Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
* Maintain and update cost databases, supplier, and subcontractor information
About You
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an Estimator within the MEP / Building Services sector
* Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
* Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications (Desirable)
* HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar
* Professional membership (e.g., Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous
