Role: Outdoor Learning and Enrichment Coordinator Start Date: May or September 2026 Location: Surrey Contract Term: Permanent Salary: £25,000 - £31,000 A leading independent school in Surrey is seeking a Business Studies Teacher from September 2026 to teach across the School. This is a full time and permanent role. This independent special school is dedicated to supporting children with a range of additional needs. They pride themselves on their nurturing environment, creative curriculum, and highly collaborative approach - ensuring every pupil feels understood, valued, and empowered to reach their potential. The Head is looking for someone who loves the outdoors and wants to inspire young people. They are looking for an enthusiastic and practical individual to lead outdoor enrichment and intervention activities that build confidence, resilience, and life skills. You will design and deliver engaging outdoor sessions for secondary students. Activities will include: Fire lighting and safety Shelter building Woodcraft and tool use Nature-based learning Expeditions, camping, and navigation Map reading and orienteering Delivering personal development programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award You will work closely with students, including those with SEND, ensuring activities are inclusive and adapted to individual needs. What the School is looking for: A passion for outdoor learning and youth development Strong practical skills in outdoor activities Experience leading expeditions and camping trips Ability to engage and motivate young people Flexible and creative approach to planning sessions Experience working with SEND students No formal teaching qualification required. Ideal candidates may have backgrounds in youth organisations (Scouts, Guides, Cadets) or similar roles.
