Elite Metalcraft is seeking an experienced Senior Designer with a strong background in architectural metalwork to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing detailed design and fabrication drawings for a wide range of architectural steel and metalwork projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D design drawings for architectural metalwork elements including balustrades, staircases, balconies, railings, gates, canopies, and bespoke steel features.
• Develop fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and technical details for workshop production and site installation.
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent to create compliant and buildable metalwork solutions.
• Liaise with architects, structural engineers, project managers, and fabricators to coordinate design requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, structural requirements, and industry standards.
• Prepare material specifications, cutting lists, and component schedules to support manufacturing processes.
• Modify and refine designs based on client feedback, engineering calculations, and site constraints.
• Conduct design reviews and clash checks with other building elements
• Provide technical support to the workshop and site teams during fabrication and installation.
• Participate in site surveys and measurements to ensure accurate design development.
• Maintain proper drawing control, revisions, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in value engineering and design optimisation to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in architectural metalwork design.
• Strong experience using Tekla (preferred) for modelling and detailing.
• Ability to produce accurate fabrication and GA drawings.
• Good understanding of structural steel and architectural metalwork systems.
• Experience working with architects, engineers, and fabrication teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
