Senior Fire Engineer
Senior Fire Engineer Location: Belfast Type: Permanent, Full-Time Visa Sponsorship: Skilled Worker sponsorship available (subject to eligibility) A leading fire engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join its expanding Belfast office. This is a strategic hire offering genuine technical influence, project ownership and a defined pathway toward Principal / Associate level. This role is suited to an experienced fire engineering professional with a minimum of 10 years’ consultancy experience, operating at Senior or Principal level on complex, multi-sector projects. The Role You will lead the delivery of performance-based fire engineering solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments. You will manage projects from concept through to completion, taking technical ownership and acting as a key point of contact for clients and design teams. Key responsibilities include: * Development and review of fire strategies across multiple sectors * Leading performance-based design solutions * Advanced fire modelling (CFD, evacuation modelling, smoke control analysis) * Liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors and approving authorities * Leading and attending technical design meetings * Reviewing architectural drawings and advising on compliance * Producing detailed technical reports * Mentoring and supporting junior engineers Requirements * Minimum 10 years’ experience within a fire engineering consultancy * Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or related discipline * Strong knowledge of UK and/or Irish Building Regulations * Extensive experience with modelling software (e.g. FDS, Pathfinder or similar) * Proven experience leading projects and managing client relationships * Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage deadlines Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership is highly desirable.
