We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Northamptonshire who are seeking a qualified SENCO to join their team on a 1-year fixed-term contract, working 3 days per week. The school is flexible on which days are worked, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a healthy work-life balance. The Role: As SENCO, you will play a key role in leading and managing the school’s SEND provision, ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive both academically and socially. Key responsibilities include: * Leading on SEND provision across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice * Identifying and supporting pupils with special educational needs * Writing, reviewing and managing EHCPs and SEN support plans * Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies * Monitoring progress and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place * Providing guidance and support to staff to promote inclusive practice * Contributing to safeguarding and pastoral support where required The Ideal Candidate: * Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) * Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination * Has previous experience working as a SENCO in a primary setting * Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice * Is organised, proactive, and confident working collaboratively * Is passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing What the School Offers: * A supportive and friendly school environment * Flexible working days (3 days per week) * A well-established SEN provision * Support from an experienced senior leadership team * Opportunity to make a real difference in a child-centred setting This role would suit an experienced SENCO looking for part-time work, return-to-work professionals, or those balancing other commitments.
