Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team working with children and young people in a residential setting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing. About the Role As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home while ensuring children receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. You will also lead shifts, guide staff members and promote positive outcomes for the young people in your care. Key Responsibilities * Leading shifts and supporting staff members during day-to-day operations * Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children are protected from harm * Providing nurturing care that supports emotional wellbeing and development * Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people * Supporting care planning and attending professional meetings * Encouraging positive behaviour and using de-escalation techniques * Maintaining accurate records and reports * Supporting children with education, health and daily living skills * Working in partnership with professionals including social workers and education providers * Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the home * Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained Requirements Essential * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare * Experience working with children and young people * Strong understanding of safeguarding practices * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Full UK Driving Licence Desirable * Previous experience in a senior residential role * Knowledge of trauma-informed care * Understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards What We’re Looking For; * Passionate about improving outcomes for young people * A strong team player with leadership ability * Calm, resilient and able to manage challenging situations * Committed to providing high-quality care and support If you are ready to take the next step in your residential childcare career and want to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
