Senior Residential Support Workers – Children’s Home Location: Liverpool Salary: £14.50 per hour + £60 per sleep-in Contract: Full-time, Permanent Shifts: Rotational shift work including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins We’re working with a children’s residential care provider seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join their team in Liverpool, supporting young people within a regulated children’s home environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional to step into a senior role, supporting the leadership team while helping to deliver safe, nurturing, and consistent care for young people. The Role As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts and ensuring high standards of care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards. Key responsibilities include: * Leading shifts and supporting the wider staff team * Promoting safeguarding and protecting children from harm * Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, development, and independence * Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people and delivering regular key work sessions * Supporting care planning, risk assessments, and placement reviews * Maintaining accurate records including daily logs, incidents, and safeguarding documentation * Promoting positive behaviour and using appropriate de-escalation strategies * Working closely with social workers, schools, and health professionals The Ideal Candidate We’re keen to speak with candidates who have: * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare * Experience working with children and young people in residential settings * Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff * A full UK driving licence Experience in a senior residential role, knowledge of trauma-informed care, and familiarity with Ofsted frameworks would be advantageous.
